Montana Game Faire
JRoch on Wednesday 13 September 2006 - 17:37:35 | Read/Post Comment: 0
The first annual Montana Game Faire will be held on October 7, 2006. This event is designed to bring table-top gamers from the scattered communities of Montana together for a day of fun gaming and competition. This will be the place to meet new gamers and to play new games.

Come try your hand at some of the new board games, card games, role-playing games and whatever else you might find waiting beyond the doors of Montana Game Faire 2006.

Door will open 8:00 AM on Saturday, October 7th, with the main events starting at 12:00 AM. Scheduled events will continue until 8:30 PM, with open gaming continuing until 11:00 PM for those people that don't need to drive home that night. The Faire has an $15 entry fee, $10 dollars for those who want to pre-register.

You can register for the event at www.blackshieldgaming.com, as well as reserve your place in any of the currently scheduled events. Events include:

Magic the Gathering
Pirates of the Spanish Main
Warhammer 40K
RPGA D&D
Shadowrun
Call of Cthullu
GURPS
Introduction to European Board Games
Pendragon
Feng Shui

World Games of Montana Board Game Tournament

As well as these "Montana Made" special appearances:
Epic RPG
The Game of Redneck Life

And a special pre-event Live Action Game on Friday (the 6th) at 6:30 - Black Shield Gamings own event, The Hand of Fate, a political marriage gone awry. This event includes a catered dinner with its $10 special event fee.

And all this in (mostly) one day. What more could a gamer ask for? That's right - prizes!

All events will have prizes - even if it is just a board game. And we will be running the following day long competitions:

Gamer of the Faire
Game Master of the Faire

How will you stack up as a gamer? As a game master? Do well enough and even if you don't win the coveted prize, you could win other prizes and potentially even free entry into next years Faire. If your that good a gamer, we want to let you in free!

The more the merrier, and you might find someone new to game with in your own town. Come join us! And have fun!

The Gaming Resources page has been updated with the contact information and location of half a dozen more gaming stores that are located in the region. In addition, the page has been reworked into categories to make it easier to both read and manage.

Please be sure to post in the forums if you have information about any gaming resources in your town that aren't listed.

Soul Calibur III Tournament

Cyberstation Arcade in Southgate Mall is having a SC3 tournament on the 30th of July at 2 PM. Registration is $8, or $10 on game day. I'm guessing they'll have the usual swag (posters and shirts) so bring a friend (or an enemy) and have some fun.
