Dark Matter Studios/Epic RPG Releases New Free Downloadable Adventure
JRoch on Saturday 02 December 2006 - 12:33:42 | Read/Post Comment: 0
Hi folks -

Kent Davis, down here in Bozeman. I'm one of the partner/designers of Epic Role Playing - I met some of you in Helena at the past Game Faire, and it just frickin' rocked. Anyway I hope none of the mods mind if I post a press release for a Montana-grown rpg from time to time?

Best,

K

Bozeman, MT - December 2, 2006. The makers of Epic Role Playing have released another of their PDF tutorial adventures, to be found exclusively on the Epic RPG website.

The free download of the tutorial adventure The Butchers of Umbrion is now available, set against a backdrop of intrigue and betrayal in the high feudal realm of Rullaea, in the Epic RPG inhouse campaign setting of Eslin.

Ceodric Trugyle, Duke of Trugyle, died 10 years ago in a skirmish after what has become known as the Wars of Passion, and his eldest son, Morgad, assumed the throne at the age of 12 and under the guidance of Ceodric’s most trusted advisor, Seneschal Pencivorn. Two months ago Morgad disappeared on a falconing hunt. His brother, the scheming young Ceodell of Trugyle, is widely believed to have murdered Morgad, and has gone into hiding. Seneschal Pencivorn was temporarily granted the Regent Lordship of Duchy Trugyle until this matter has been settled. Matters worsen and kingdoms hang in the balance as assassins plot against the very king of Ehrlyr himself. Now you are involved; your only hope is to discover the Butchers of Umbrion before it is too late.

About Epic Role Playing - Epic RPG is a versatile, skill-based fantasy RPG: intense and fast-paced tactical combat, six innovative branches of magic, and culturally based character development.

For the third year, we will be hosting a Worldwide D&D Game Day event at Muse Comics and Games. The games start at NOON on Saturday, November 4th and run until the adventure ends (or until 6pm, when we close).

We will have DMs on hand to run adventures for the lucky players who show up. Characters will be provided for the adventures, so all you need to bring is yourself and whatever gaming supplies help get you through the day.

Players can call or stop in at Muse starting on Friday October 27th to ensure a seat at the event. Or you can try your luck just stopping in on November 4th a little before noon.

For more information, contact Erik at Muse Comics and Games. (Phone: 543-9944 | email: events©musecomics.com)

40K tournment @ Action Card and Comics, 11 Nov
JRoch on Sunday 15 October 2006 - 13:12:10 | Read/Post Comment: 0
Hello Everyone!

Yes - it has been a long time since the last update from the world of Action Cards and Comics as far as tournaments are concerned. So, first things first. A new tournament is being planned and the date selected was Saturday, November 11, 2006. The registration will start at 10:30 a.m and the first game should begin at 11:00 that morning.

So, if any of you get it in your mind to attend - you know the when and where of it all.

Now the particulars. It will be a four round tournament. Each player must bring 1,500 points of his chosen army for the tournament. No side boards, no additional forces of any kind. The codexes will be the only things permitted - in other words - tournament legal army lists. Yes - speed freaks or other lists from various sources will be allowed. However, NO VDR, No Super Heavies, No build a bug, no allies or mercenaries unless specifically listed as allowed in the Daemon Hunter or Witch Hunter codex and your force is one of those two listed above. So, No Kroot mercenaries, etc.

The scenarios have already been developed and Brooks and I are going to work out all of the particulars.

Cost will be $15.00 per person and will include LUNCH ONLY - no T-Shirts this go-round - and of course, the prize support. Prizes will be awarded for 1. Overall Champion, 2. Best Sportsman, 3. Best Painted-Army, and 4. Worst dice rolls. If there are going to be other awards - Brooks will decide the award and how it will
be awarded.

Armies should be WYSIWYG - if the army ISN'T - then you must inform the opposing player and the model must wear a token or other indicator to let the opponent know that the model isn't WYSIWYG. This includes vehicles. So, if your vehicle is going to have a spot light - the model better have one - or you will have
to put a token on it.

Hope to see as many of you as possible to make the first tournament in the new location a success! Invite your friends - join the fun.
