Tactical Solutions 2008
JRoch on Thursday 09 October 2008 - 13:17:30 | Read/Post Comment: 0
Howdy folks,

I'd like to invite you all to attend Tactical Solutions 2008.

http://tactical-solutions-gaming.tripod.com/

This year Tactical Solutions will be held at the Coeur d'Alene Best Western on October 17, 18, and 19. Tactical Solutions is a miniatures gaming convention. This means any game played with miniature figures is appropriate for this venue. Tactical Solutions is a regional event drawing attendees from Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

This year we have some award winning games and you will get to see some award winning figures as well. We attract some of the very best in miniature gaming.

That said, you don't have to have award winning stuff to put on a game at Tactical Solutions. Last year a couple of young men in their early teens presented a Flames of War game that was well attended.

As I write this, there are a very few open spots for additional games. I expect these will fill up fast so please visit our web page and place your request for gaming space ASAP.

Sorry this is so late. I just discovered this forum.

Now that I know about you, I'll have to make plans to attend your event next year.
I grew up in Helena!

Hope to see you all at Tactical Solutions!

Montana Game Faire 2008
JRoch on Sunday 28 September 2008 - 12:21:40 | Read/Post Comment: 0
Only two weeks until the Game Faire commences in Helena. For those not in know - it is on October 10th (6- 10 pm) and October 11th all day with events starting at 9:30 AM.

This is the first year we have opened Friday up to general gaming, and will be hosting a Settlers of Catan tournament that evening along with role-playing, and whatever else people might bring. Saturday is still the mainstay - and we try and make it so that you can drive down from a nearby town that morning and drive back after the event - awards ceremony is at 9:00 PM, done by 9:30.

We have some old favorites such as the Mystery Board Game Tournament and the Gamer of the Day award, along with the Event of the Day winner from last year - Introduction to Czech Board Games returning.

But we have some new things as well. Monsterpocalypse will be making its Montana debut at the Faire, at that looks like more fun then I can imagine. (I saw it at Gencon and it was a huge hit.) We also will give another go at a Magic tournament - booster draft so no worrying about bringing your deck, just come to play.

4th Ed. D&D will be going on all day, including a Living Forgotten Realms event on Friday evening, along with a whole plethora of other role-playing - such as Call of Cthullu, Classic Traveller and Savage Worlds.

And to top that off - don't forget about Faire gold, silent auctions, prizes and good people. All coming to Helena on October 10-11.

Visit www.montanagamefaire.org for schedule and information.

SpoCon Travel and Housing
JRoch on Wednesday 16 July 2008 - 10:00:01 | Read/Post Comment: 1
Anyone in Missoula Planning to Travel to SpoCon,

MisCon will be taking a 12 (or possibly 15) passenger van. Once I know how many seats are left after ConCom, the remainder will be available to the public on a space available basis.

Lodging at SpoCon is running short. If you plan to go and have yet to secure your crash space, check out http://spocon.us/hotel ASAP.
